I began my fitness journey nearly 20 years ago after experiencing major back pain due to a herniated disk in my lower back.
For a number of years, the doctors had me on pain medication, which led to having to take more medication to mask the side effects of painkillers. My doctors told me that I would be on medication for the rest of my life. I was ready to throw in the towel.
After a number of years on medication, I decided that it was time to make a change. I began a martial arts program and changed my eating habits. Slowly but surely, I got off all the medication and pain meds. I made it a point to learn more about fitness and nutrition to share with others.
I refused to give up the best of my life to medication!
